ATEX and IECEx: what is the difference?

Ex d flameproof ATEX enclosure, Antidéflagrant Service project (2024)

Both are based on the same EN/IEC 60079 series of standards. ATEX is a European regulatory obligation. IECEx is an international scheme that makes export easier, with certificates that can be checked online.
